Kidlandia is the 4th planet from the sun, between Earth and Mars, with a dense atmosphere and moderate temperatures ideal for life. Three times the diameter of Earth, millions of islands cover 12% of the surface, with 88% ocean. The inhabitants, Kreechurs, keep it safe by bending light around the planet, making it invisible to the covetous eyes of human adults.

Jacobia is a typical island of Kidlandia. Kreechurs, while friendly, don't accept each other's authority, so they invite noble child humans to serve as kings and queens, and name their kingdoms after their ruler. So the child doesn't miss people on earth, they name rivers, towns and other features after the child's family and friends.
